Mumbai’s stalled mill workers’ housing scheme, launched decades ago, is finally seeing progress. A ₹5,500 crore subsidy, equally funded by the Municipal Corporation, Maharashtra Housing Fund, and state budget, supports the project. Eligible workers contribute ₹9.5 lakh for their ₹15 lakh homes, with the state covering the rest. MHADA has initiated an eligibility verification drive, allowing applicants to submit documents via an app or at MHADA offices.
