Tirupattur police have rescued a two-month-old baby girl sold by her impoverished mother for Rs 50,000. A complex network of brokers facilitated the subsequent sale of the infant to a childless couple in Namakkal for Rs 13 lakh. Six individuals, including the mother and the adoptive parents, have been apprehended in connection with this child trafficking case.
