Elijah Just wrote his name into New Zealand football history by scoring twice against Iran in a 2-2 Group G draw at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Los Angeles. The 26-year-old Motherwell winger became the first All White to score two goals in a World Cup match, joining just four other New Zealanders to have scored at the tournament. Despite Just’s efforts, Iran twice levelled through Ramin Rezaeian and Mohammad Mohebi to deny New Zealand a famous opening win.
