Filmmaker Pushpendra Singh, whose name matches that of the director accused by Laapataa Ladies actor Satendra Soni of assault, criminal intimidation and withholding payment, found himself at the receiving end of online abuse after being mistaken for the accused. A former FTII professor, Pushpendra says he spent the past two days trying to convince strangers that he had no connection to the controversy. Recalling the emotional and professional toll of the episode, he says a reputation built over two decades was tarnished overnight. He urges people to verify identities before targeting anyone online, warning that misinformation can seriously harm innocent individuals.
