India’s sports ministry has denied clearance for taekwondo athletes Kashish Malik and Aranaya Thakur to compete at the Asian Games. Neither athlete met the required top-six finish at the Asian championships in their respective categories, with one category not even being an Asiad event. The ministry cited policy and a lack of a recognized national sports federation for taekwondo in India.
