Guru Sangyusang Pongener, a Padma Shri recipient, has dedicated six decades to preserving the indigenous Ao Naga culture. Witnessing its decline, he left a stable job to document, teach, and revive fading art forms, songs, and dances. Co-founding the Naga Wadir Club, he has mentored over 2,000 young artists, ensuring the rich oral and performative traditions are passed on. His vision includes establishing a cultural academy for future generations.
