Elections for the Kolkata Municipal Corporation will be held by December, announced Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari. This follows the dissolution of the Trinamool Congress-controlled board after Mayor Firhad Hakim’s resignation and the inability to form a new civic body. The administrator-led administration will hand over to elected representatives after polls, aiming for a new board by early December.
