Australia has inked a landmark A$2.5 billion deal to export its advanced Over-the-Horizon Radar technology to Canada, bolstering Arctic surveillance. This significant defence export, Australia’s largest ever, will equip Canada with long-range early warning capabilities, enhancing the NORAD network amid rising geopolitical tensions and increased activity in the strategically vital Arctic region. The technology, based on Australia’s JORN system, can detect threats thousands of kilometres away.
