Taylor Hall capped a 16-year Stanley Cup chase by scoring the opening goal in Carolina’s clinching victory over Vegas, finishing the playoffs with seven goals and 19 points in 19 games. After lifting the trophy, Hall immediately expressed his wish for former Edmonton teammate Connor McDavid to win one too. Hall’s second line with Logan Stankoven and Jackson Blake was among the playoffs’ most dominant units, posting a 72 per cent goal share at five-on-five across 211 minutes together.
