Union culture minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat will visit Haldighati on June 18 to personally review the battlefield’s condition, after concerns over poor signage, encroachments and inadequate visitor interpretation surfaced during Rajasthan’s 450th anniversary observances of the battle. In an interview with TOI’s Shoeb Khan, Shekhawat said the Centre was committed to preserving heritage associated with Maharana Pratap and supported plans including the proposed Maharana Pratap Circuit.
