The film ‘Being Heumann’ will open the Toronto International Film Festival on September 10. This movie stars Ruth Madeley as the late disability rights activist Judith Heumann. Heumann was a key figure in the Americans with Disabilities Act and the “Crip Camp” film. Director Sian Heder’s new work follows her Oscar-winning “CODA” movie. Apple is releasing “Being Heumann” and also “CODA” which won best picture.
