Mumbai and its surrounding regions are on high alert as the IMD has issued a red alert for the entire Mumbai Metropolitan Region for Saturday, predicting extremely heavy rainfall in isolated areas. Earlier, an orange alert was in place. The city has already experienced significant monsoon showers, with the island city recording over 114 mm of rain in a 24-hour period.
