The Madhya Pradesh High Court has overturned a single judge’s order compelling a former LNIPE Vice-Chancellor to pay Rs 35 lakh in a sexual harassment case. The appellate court ruled that compensation cannot be decided while the VC’s appeal against the inquiry findings remains pending. The matter has been sent back to the departmental appellate authority for a fair hearing and decision.
