The Kansas City Current have unveiled a $1.4 billion expansion of CPKC Stadium, increasing capacity from 11,500 to 18,000 seats while adding a parking garage and riverfront development. Minority owners Patrick and Brittany Mahomes continue backing the club’s growth. Founded in 2020, the Current have become an NWSL powerhouse, finishing runners-up in 2022, winning the NWSL Shield, and becoming the first team to sell out every home match in 2024.
