Skywatchers are anticipating the June Strawberry Moon, set to peak on June 29, 2026. Despite its name, the moon won’t change colour; the moniker originates from Indigenous traditions marking the wild strawberry harvest. This year, due to its low trajectory after the summer solstice, the moon may appear larger and more colourful near the horizon, a phenomenon known as the “Moon illusion.”
