Jaguar TCS Racing driver Mitch Evans started third on the grid but was forced to retire after sustaining damage to his car. Although the team quickly repaired the damage under the red flag, the car was unable to complete the race. Evans described it as a missed opportunity, as both he and teammate Antonio Felix da Costa had been in strong positions during the race.
