The National Hockey League has cleared veteran coach Mike Babcock to return to coaching. This follows an investigation into his brief tenure with the Columbus Blue Jackets. The league found no basis to restrict his future employment. The Edmonton Oilers can now pursue hiring Babcock. He previously won a Stanley Cup with the Detroit Red Wings.
