Thane Crime Branch has arrested three individuals for allegedly extorting Rs 15 lakh from a contractor overseeing an Rs 188 crore civic project in Dombivli. The accused reportedly threatened to stall the project by filing false complaints after obtaining project documents via RTI. One suspect was apprehended while accepting the demanded sum, leading to further arrests. Police are investigating potential links to an organized extortion ring targeting government contractors.
