In a harrowing case, twelve bonded labourers were freed from a factory in Muzaffarnagar, where they endured life-threatening conditions. They reported that a fellow worker, known as Topi alias Arjun, was murdered in November 2025 for his defiance. The police are currently investigating the homicide while also seeking the factory owner. The survivors detailed their experiences of forced labour and intimidation.
